Welcome to my CTER wiki!  Please use this space to tell me about your work, comment on my work, or to collaborate with me on projects.  I look forward to working with you!

Wikis are a great way to work collaboratively on group projects, meeting notes, and papers.  For instance, in my CTER courses, students from different states across the U.S. were able to work on projects.  This tool was a great way for us to collaborate in our online courses.  Another great example of wiki use is at work.  In my department, we use wikis in our advising office.  Wikis are a great way for my colleagues and I to post notes about students, collaborate on informational posters and handouts, and to review meeting notes.  Overall, wikis are a great way to work together, track individual and group progress, and organize everyone's thughts and work.

I'm with you, Elizabeth--I think wikis are predominantly undervalued as a tool for collaborating. In the U of I CS department, we use a wiki as a comprehensive repository for all of our documentation. One particularly useful feature is the ability to protect secure content through user access.
